When in olden times, Kings saw that their people were suffering from excessive debts, they offered what was known as a ‘debt jubilee’. This wiped away a portion of their people’s debts, helping them pay their loans off sooner.
Famous Sociologist, David Graeber, and eminent Australian Economist, Steve Keen, have argued that a debt jubilee would be a very effective way to manage the cost of living pressure facing us all.
The Hip Pocket Network has taken up the fight for a debt jubilee in Australia. We are drawing on the resources of our network of members to ask government to legislate for 100k off your mortgage. We would also be asking for $100k off any other debts (university, car, bills, etc.) for those who don’t have a mortgage.
This ‘debt jubilee’ would be funded out of bank profits, and be rolled out over a 10 year period to ensure bank stocks and super fund values do not take a hit.
HOW WE APPLY YOUR INVESTMENT
We will apply the money we receive from you in approximately the following ways:
Member Rewards - 10%
We always set aside 10% of everything we receive to ensure our loyal members are rewarded. Generally, this reward will come in the form of a member reward to one lucky member of $100,000 every time we raise more than $1 million dollars (after tax) for the Fight for $100K.

Fighting for $100K - 70%
Most of what we collect from you will be focused on the Fight for $100K.

This money will fund lobbying, advocacy, advertising and other work directed at getting government to give you $100,000 off your mortgage and other loans.

This money will also pay for our staff and other operating costs, including recruiting new members.
Investing for the future - 20%
We want to make sure that you get $100,000 off your mortgage and other loans as soon as possible.

We know that by growing as a business and investing for the future, we can make that happen. Therefore we invest a small portion of everything we collect each year in growing ourselves to better Fight for $100K on your behalf.
